Today I read Gen 19. The chapter that talks of Lot in Sodom. Lot chose to move to Sodom. He chose to live in a sinful environment with sinful people. And he didn’t really want to leave when the Lord told him to.
I know what you are saying – we are all sinners. I agree, we are sinners. But we can choose what music we listen to, what television we watch, what we read on the internet, how we spend our time, who we talk to, who we listen to, what books and magazines we read . . . Our lives are full of choices.And those choices mold us daily.
Lot’s life was full of choices. He chose to live close to sinful people and become one of the Sodomites.
What are you choosing? And is it glorifying God?
Personally this reading hit home. How am I actively pursuing my God? How are my readings making me more God-like? Am I quiet enough for God to speak to me?
