Book Review of Protector’s Honor

Confession time – I’ve never read a Love Inspired novel until this one! I met the author, Kit Wilkinson, at the Blue Ridge Conference in early 2009. We had a meal and a nice chat. Fast forward about six months and we reconnected at the ACFW conference. That’s when I decided Kit is a sweetie! She is so warm and energetic. So when I was in the conference bookstore looking to purchase a few new novels, I decided to get Kit’s debut novel, Protector’s Honor.

Backcover copy :

It’s instinct. When NCIS agent Rory Farrell hears a woman scream, he reacts. But even after he saves her from abduction, Rory can’t get the beautiful and fragile Tabitha Beaumont out of his mind. Especially when he finds a connection between Tabitha and his latest murder investigation. She needs protection—Rory’s protection—while Rory needs answers Tabitha doesn’t even realize she holds. Yet how can he find the truth without betraying Tabitha’s trust? Soon, Rory must decide what matters most—keeping his objective distance, or keeping Tabitha, in his arms and under his protection, forever.

This was an enjoyable debut novel – my only complaint was the small font for my old eyes, but I see where you can order larger font in the Love Inspired line, so I guess no negatives at all! In the future I’ll definitely get the larger font for myself.

The opening chapter has a great hook, it drew me in from the first page. The settings were very realistic. The characters and their motivations were believable and enjoyable to read and I felt the romance throughout the book. In this light read, Kit did a great job engaging all the senses and I’m looking forward to her next novel!

Now come back next week because Kit’s going to spend some one-on-one time with us!

  1. Thank, Heidi!!! Such a pleasure getting to know you! Sorry about the small font… you should see the book I’m reading now. It’s awful. Maybe we need to get a Nook so we can change the font size :o)

  2. Kit,
You are such fun! The interview next week is awesome 🙂
A friend showed me her Kindle. . . I love it but don’t like the idea of reading a novel on an electronic device!

I appreciate the time you spent with me and hope your readers tune back next week for the interview! Heidi
